Microsoft introduced PowerShell DSC for Linux

Microsoft Corporation presented a version of the platform PowerShell DSC (Desired State Configuration) and the operating system Linux. PowerShell DSC is a set of extensions to the standard PowerShell, which serves as a centralized uptavlenie configuration and perform the same functions as known in the art software systems Chef and Puppet. The software is available as an RPM and DEB packages, and is designed to operate on industry standard OMI (Open Management Infrastructure). Now it becomes possible to use the interface of PowerShell to manage Windows and Linux configurations, and various network equipment, such as routers.Source code is written in the programming language C ++ and published in the open form, in accordance with the MIT license.
The first version of PowerShell DSC supports distributions CentOS, Debian GNU / Linux, Oracle Linux, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server and Ubuntu Server. To use available resources and the installation of specially prepared archives management system variables, management of users, groups of users and access rights to files and directories, execution of custom scripts, manage ssh-keys.
