Ukraine accused Russia of monitoring consumers with the help of accounting programs

Kiev introduced sanctions for businesses distributing Russian accounting software 1C. On May 15 this year, the President of Ukraine Piotr Poroshenko signed a decree on the new economic sanctions against the Russian Federation. It is proposed to block the territory of Ukraine to access all services of Jandex, the social network VKontakte, as well as to the sites of Kaspersky Lab and Doctor Web.
The Ukrainian channel "Channel 24" has announced that sanctions also affect businesses distributing accounting software 1C. The security services of Ukraine have investigated these programs and found that some of them are being used for illegal and unlawful intelligence gathering, "which is in practice a cyber-shot," said the secretary of the National Security and Defense Service of Ukraine, Alexander Turchinov. Turchinov added that the data gathered in this way is used to distribute malicious code similar to WannaCry last week. This information can be used to carry out powerful cyber attacks. Turkchin noted that there is no way to get the accountants to quit the Russian software quickly. But state institutions will have to use Ukrainian software.
