Jubilee ThinkPad marks a quarter century of the brand

The model is an upgraded version of the ThinkPad 700C. Lenovo released a special edition of the ThinkPad on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the laptop. The Lenovo ThinkPad 25th Anniversary Edition is crafted in retro style, reminiscent of the original ThinkPad 700C, announced on October 5, 1992 by IBM. The jubilee laptop retains a number of external features of its predecessor, a seven-line classical keyboard (now backlit), a blue Enter key, and a blue mark on the help keys. The ThinkPad 25 is decorated with the appropriate logo and comes in a special package.
The notebook delivers a 14-inch touchscreen with Full HD 1920x1080 pixel resolution and boasts an eighth-generation Intel Core i7-7500U processor, complemented by a Nvidia GeForce 940MX graphics card, 16GB DDR4 memory, and a 512GB PCIe SSD semiconductor disk.
Lenovo has embedded the model and fingerprint scanner. The battery provides up to 18 hours of autonomy for the device, says the manufacturer. Three USB 3.0 ports, USB Type-C (Intel Thunderbolt 3), HDMI, gigabit Ethernet, a 3.5-mm headphone socket and a 4-in-1 card reader are available.

Gartner: 10th consecutive quarter of decline in PC sales

The problems of the PC market continued: now celebrate 10th consecutive quarter of declining sales. According to Gartner, in Q1 2017 PC sales globally have fallen by 2.4% new. Gartner believes that for the first three months of the year sold 62.2 million units, which means that for the first time since 2007 we celebrate 63 million in sales for the quarter. For Q1 2017 the largest PC companies Lenovo, HP, Dell, Asus, Apple and Acer, as they Asus and Acer have reported a serious decline, and the remaining growth was minimal.

Gartner explains that there is greater interest in the business segment of the PC market, but it is offset by the decline in demand in consumer equipment. Companies still replace their computers because they are the basic operating systems, while end users or have refused to upgrade or all turned their backs on the computer. "There are various factors that determine this steady decline, but one remains valid for each quarter: PC-it just does not look as much as ever," said research firm.
